To Whom it my concern,

My name is XXXXX and I'm in the United States Marine Corps.  I am a squad leader with XXXX and we are getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan next month.  My boys and I will be on patrol for days possibly weeks at a time and will have to live and operate with the locals in the area.  This means that there will be no re-supplies from our company and that we will have to get our water from the canals and wells.  My squad are using your
Clean Stream Gravity Filter as we did when we were in Bridgeport during Mountain Warfare Training.  We all unanimously agree that your product works great in even the toughest environments.  My platoon is operating with minimal support from our company and even our battalion but we are going to make do with what we can.  And I’m glad to tell you that my troops have not been sick, even drinking the worst water.  Thanks very much for a great product

Dear MSR,

I am currently deployed to the Kandahar region of Afghanistan as part of the XXXX.  Our mission is to conduct Route Clearance (clear the road of Improvised Explosive Devices) on the roads so that Afghan Locals and NATO Forces can travel freely.  Often when our vehicles strike an Improvised Explosive Device, our patrol must remain in that location overnight or for multiple nights, until the area can be secured and exploited.  We receive pallets of bottled water while located on a major base, but when traveling across the Southern part of Afghanistan we sometimes need to use our issued iodine tablets to make the local water potable.  We are still having issues of fertilizer run off in the streams, malaria, and various bacteria in the water systems.

More often than not every Soldier that drinks the water treated with iodine has diarrhea for days following that patrol.  Unfortunately, even the bottled water doesn't taste great and sometimes causes stomach pains.

I am trying to convince our unit to purchase one or two water purifiers per platoon to ensure our Soldiers are better prepared and equipped.  I'm not sure which purifier will best suit our needs; we don't need high output, but rather durability and longevity.  Any help or advice you give me is greatly appreciated.
